About Tracy Wood (nee MacDonald)

Tracy is an artist who paints bright vibrant colours depicting mainly New Zealand landscapes, sunsets and sunrises.  A favourite subject to paint is Somes Island (Matiu) in her hometown of Wellington, New Zealand.  Natural plants such as flax, toi toi and cabbage trees are also a favourite theme.

Tracy lived in Sydney, Australia when she started to paint and sell her paintings.  There is a noticeable shift in subject matter from when Tracy lived in Australia to when she moved back to her hometown of Wellington New Zealand in 2007.  In Australia, the subject matter was sunsets and sunrises, and in New Zealand, the subject matter moved to daylight scenery with New Zealand's native flora.

Tracy paints the majority of her paintings using quality artist paints and also paints in oils.  Her early works are predominantly in oils and Tracy shifted to acrylics in 2008.

Tracy exhibits at the Kiwi Art House gallery, top of Cuba Street, Wellington New Zealand.
